Donate Bikes & Parts

The Queen City Bicycle Collective is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit. When you drop off your donation to QC Bike, during Open Shop Hours, we will be glad to provide you with a tax receipt, should you like one.

FAQs:

What Bikes Do You Take?

We accept bikes in any condition! If their condition is especially poor, we will strip them for good parts to use as affordable replacements for in-shop repairs, and the rest will be recycled!

Our preferred bikes have 20 inch wheels, or larger (the wheel size is typically written on the side of the tires, e.g. 20 x 2.125). Smaller, children’s sized bikes (12-1/2, 14, 16, & 18 inch wheels) are difficult for us to find homes for.

We also accept bike parts, accessories, gear, clothing, racks, and more.

Why Donate?

QC Bike has provided affordable bicycles and repair services for nearly 10 years. Your donation keeps our doors open and Manchester rolling!

Where Can I Bring My Donation?

Donations can be dropped off at our 35 Elm Street location, during our open shop hours.

Do I Need an Appointment to Donate?

Not necessarily, it’s just nice to know you’re coming! If you have a large number of bikes (i.e. more than four), having an appointment, or contacting us before you arrive, helps us to prepare effectively.

Can You Pick Up My Donation?

We’re unable to offer donation pick ups at this time, but feel free to contact us about it.

How Will My Donation Be Used?

Bikes with wheel sizes of 20 and 24 inches get utilized for our Earn-a-Bike project. Adult-sized bikes: 26 inch wheels and larger, are refurbished to be sold as affordable transportation from our community bike shop, or, if they are particularly nice (yay!) sold to generate revenue to keep our charitable enterprise rolling. Bikes in less usable condition will be used for their parts.

Bike sales are a major source of revenue for QC Bike and allow us to keep our lights on and doors open. Your donation is valuable to us, and we thank you!
